Guwahati: Two suspected smugglers have been arrested by Assam police from Bokakhat in Golaghat district on Tuesday.
Based on specific input, a team of Bokakhat police conducted a search operation and apprehended one of the suspected smugglers.
The arrestee identified as Bhatta Bahadur Thapa.
During the operation, Police officials also recovered a rhino horn from his possession which was hidden at his residence.
Police officials informed that Thapa was previously involved in rhino horn poaching incidents.
Upon interrogation, he revealed the identity of another suspected smuggler.
Another suspected smuggler has been identified as Badheshwar Sinta.
He was also taken into police custody from a nearby residence.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered against the duo under relevant sections.
