Guwahati: A huge quantity of illegal drugs worth Rs 42,000 was recovered at Didboi of Tinsukia district of Asasm on Wednesday.
According to reports, seven people were detained in connection with it.
Reportedly, the accused were detained during raids at several places throughout the area.
Acting on specific input, a team of police officials conducted raids in the araes of Borbil, CMH area, Muliabari, and Lachit Nagar based on specific information, and the youths were taken into custody.
The people that were arrested were identified as Hamidul Zaman (age 33), Anwar Ali (age 25), Basu Nayak (age 29), Satyajit Hazarika (age 33), Rana Saikia (age 26), Syed Sheikh, and Nripen Saikia.
The Imphal district of Manipur recently saw the seizure of a huge amount of crystal methamphetamine, or “ice drugs,” valued at Rs 5 crore.
Moreover, Bishnu Banik who is 32 years old of Moreh town, was detained for possessing drugs after being accused of dealing them.
However, it has been learned that the seized substances weighed nearly 5 kg.
