Mizoram Govt Dispatched 15.7 Metric Tonnes of Pineapples to Haryana

Guwahati: The Mizoram government delivered 15.7 metric tonnes of organic pineapples to Sonipat in Haryana on Thursday.

The shipment was flagged off at the Ch Saprawnga truck terminal in Aizawl by the state Agriculture minister C Lalrinsanga.

Tuichangral Organic FPC Limited harvested the pineapples in the Khawzawl district.

Lalrinsanga stated during the occasion that Mizoram-grown fruits and vegetables are in high demand throughout the nation. He suggested that the state enhance its crop in order to satisfy the desires of those outside the state.

The minister also asked the farmers to increase their harvest in order to improve exports.

Ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) MLA Dr ZR Thiamsanga, who was present at the flag off function, said that the government is giving top priority to farmers.

He claimed that a recent council of ministers meeting had approved the legal vinification and market sale of locally cultivated grapes.

The pineapples that were flagged off on Thursday were sold to Surifresh Extract Private Limited, which is situated in Sonipat.

Mizoram exported fresh pineapples to Dubai and Bahrain last month.
