5 JD(U) MLAs Merge With Ruling BJP In Manipur
Guwahati: A total of five MLAs from the Janata Dal (United) JD(U) have united with the governing BJP.
This is was informed via a statement released by the Manipur Legislative Assembly Secretariat on Friday.
According to the statement, the merger of five JD(U) MLAs with the BJP under the tenth schedule of the Constitution has been welcomed by the Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly.
These five MLAs are – Kh. Joykishan Singh, Ngursanglur Sanate, Md. Achab Uddin, Thangjam Arunkumar and L.M. Khaute.
The BJP secured a majority of 32 seats in the 60-member state Assembly in the recently held Assembly elections. The results were announced on March 10.
