UP: 2 Dead, 10 Injured in Massive Fire at Lucknow Hotel
Guwahati: As many as ten people were injured and two were found dead in a fire broke out on Monday morning at the Levana Hotel in the Hazratganj area of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, according to CMO Lucknow, Manoj Agarwal.
“The incident of fire in a hotel was reported this morning, after which the rescue operation is on. A fire incident took place in Levana Hotel in Hazratganj this morning, after which patients are being admitted to the hospital. So far 10 people have been admitted to the Civil Hospital out of which 2 people are brought dead,” Agarwal said.
But because it’s believed that a number of individuals are still trapped there, rescue and relief efforts are already under way at the Hotel Levana.
Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, assessed the damage caused by the fire and instructed the authorities to treat the injured.
“The district administration’s representatives have been ordered by the chief minister to give the injured people the proper care. Along with this, the District Magistrate and senior police officers have been directed to reach the spot immediately and speed up the relief and rescue work,” said a statement by the chief minister’s office.
All of the hotel’s gas cylinders are being removed, along with any flammable materials, in an effort to put out the fire as quickly as possible.
Rescue efforts are continuously carried out the police and firefighters.
“Cause (of the fire) is being ascertained. It might have happened as a result of a short circuit. There were possibly 35–40 persons present in 18 of the total 30 rooms that were occupied. The trapped individuals were rescued and transported to Civil Hospital “said Suryapal Gangwar, district magistrate.
