Canada Stabbing Attacks Leave 10 Dead, 15 Injured

Guwahati: At least 10 people were killed and 15 others were injured in a stabbing spree on Sunday in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, according to authorities.
According to Royal Canadian Mounted Police Assistant Commissioner Rhonda Blackmore, officers responding to emergency calls discovered 10 bodies in the nearby hamlet of Weldon and the distant indigenous village of James Smith Cree Nation in the state of Saskatchewan.
She reported that at least 15 additional persons had been taken to a hospital with injuries.
A manhunt has been launched to find the suspects, she informed. “We are actively looking for the two suspects,” said the assistant commissioner.
Myles and Damien Sanderson, who were the assailants, are brothers who are 30 and 31, respectively. They allegedly escaped in a car.
The James Smith Cree Nation, which has 2,500 members, has a local state of emergency. It has been suggested that people seek refuge.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau expressed his condolences for the attacks in a tweet, calling them “horrific and sad,” and he urged the locals to follow the authorities’ directions.
Meanwhile, Blackmore added that the authorities believe “some of the victims were targeted by the suspects and others were attacked randomly.”
“To speak to a motive would be extremely difficult at this point in time,” she added.
A resident of Weldon Diane Shier told local media that her neighbor, a man who lived with his grandson, was killed in the attack. “I am very upset because I lost a good neighbor,” she said.
