Guwahati: Basistha Police Held 4 For Providing Fake Credentials
Guwahati: Four people have been arrested for allegedly appearing for an exam with fake certificates in Guwahati late last night.
The four have been arrested by Basistha Police in Guwahati.
They reportedly arrived in Guwahati with forged identification in order to take the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) examination.
According to reports, the four young people presented phoney Permanent Residence Certificates (PRC) and Aadhaar cards.
Those arrested were identified as Nitish Kumar and Ravishankar from Bihar, Shivam from Aligarh and Shahrukh Saifik from Uttar Pradesh.
It should be mentioned that the Paltan Bazar Police recently conducted raids and made a few arrests, making this the second such operation.
On September 2, authorities said that they had detained two people in the Paltan Bazar area on suspicion of counterfeiting seal pads and stamps.
The two arrested individuals were identified as Shankar Yadav and Munna Sharma, both residents of Uttar Pradesh.
Officials said that the two people who were arrested produced bogus caste certificates, PRCs, and other documents in return for cash.
They allegedly charged between Rs 25,000 and Rs 30,000 for each fake job and focused on robbing job seekers in the North East.
Meanwhile, the two persons were taken into custody by Paltan Bazar police and they are currently questioning them on the charges.
The police claimed that under the pretence of conducting all-India exams, they had distributed certificates to job hopefuls bearing phoney seals.
