Guwahati: Two Hizbul Mujahideen militants were neutralized in an encounter on Tuesday with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag area
Security personnel started a cordon and search operation after receiving information regarding the presence of terrorists there. As soon as the terrorists started shooting at the security troops, it quickly turned into a gunfight.
Two terrorists with ties to the outlawed terrorist group Hizbul Mujahideen were killed in the gunfight.
“Killed terrorists identified as Danish Bhat @ Kokab Duree & Basharat Nabi, both affiliated with proscribed terror outfit HM. Both were involved in killing of one TA soldier Saleem on 9 April 2021 & killing of two civilians on 29 May 2021 in Jablipora,” Additional DGP, Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar tweeted.
