NDRF Team Deployed to Rescue People in Bengaluru

Guwahati: The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has sent a team to Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, to rescue people from flood-damaged regions of the city.

Traffic was hampered in various areas of Bengaluru on Tuesday due to water logging. With Bengaluru reeling under severe waterlogging due to incessant heavy rains, many IT professionals in India’s Silicon Valley resorted to tractors to reach their workplaces on Monday.

Meanwhile, Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai released Rs 300 crores to address the current crisis and maintain the city’s essential infrastructure.

Meantime, significant rains are expected over the next five days in coastal and north interior Karnataka  followed by reasonably widespread rains over the next two days in south interior Karnataka.

The city’s civic body BBMP has also provided hotline numbers. The rain helpdesk will also be accessible at toll-free number 1533. Along with zonal helpline lines, the BBMP also provides a 24-hour helpline (2266 0000) and a WhatsApp helpline (94806 85700).
