Guwahati: As many as four people were killed and eight others sustained injuries after roof collapsed of a house in Prayagraj of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.
The incident occurred due to heavy rainfall, said Circle Officer Sarvanand.
Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, expressed his sympathies for the fatalities and ordered the district administration to grant the injured people free medical care.
Additionally, CM Yogi promised an Rs 4 lakh compensation for the victims’ families.
According to the Circle Officer, the eight injured are being treated at the Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital and their condition is stable.
