Assam Govt Presents Anundoram Borooah Award to 22,601 Meritorious Students
Guwahati: The Assam Government on Wednesday gave Rs 16,000 to each student who received more than a 75 percent in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Assam High Madrassa (AHM) examinations in 2022 as part of the Anundoram Borooah Award.
22,601 deserving pupils had money deposited to their bank accounts totaling Rs 36 crores. Additionally, top rank holders received recognition.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma presented the Anundoram Borooah Award at a ceremony conducted at Guwahati’s Srimanta Sankardeva Auditorium. State Education Minister Ranoj Pegu, Education Advisor Nani Gopal Mahanta and other senior officials were present at the occasion.
The Assam Government’s ambitious Anundoram Borooah Award programme aims to encourage pupils to pursue academic success.
The Assam government introduced the programme in 2005 to encourage healthy competition among students and to broaden their knowledge through IT education.
