Guwahati: In a major haul, Guwahati Police seized a sizeable shipment of morphine from the Guwahati Railway Station on Friday.
According to officials, two persons were detained in connection with the significant bust.
The amount of morphine that was found was 2.042 kilogram’s, and its estimated street value is Rs. 8 crores.
The package was reportedly being smuggled into Guwahati from Tinsukia in Assam when it was stopped and seized.
Meanwhile, police said that the two arrested individuals are currently under interrogation. A formal investigation into the incident has been initiated.
