Guwahati: Two suspected linkmen associated with banned insurgent outfit Kamatapur Liberation Organisation (KLO) has been arrested by Kokrajhar Police for allegedly being involved in extortion charges on Saturday.
The duo has been identified as Bishnu Rai and Tapas Rai.
According to reports, the duo was arrested from Serfanguri area of the district.
Reports claim that the accused KLO linkmen tried to extort money from a businessman, namely Sunil Mandal.
Police acted quickly in response to Sunil’s allegation and detained the KLO members from Narabari.
A case under relevant sections has also been registered against them. An investigation to unearth further linkages is on.
