NIA Raids Several Locations Against Terror Gangs in Sidhu Moose Wala Killing

Guwahati: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday conducted various raids against alleged “terror groups” connected to the murder of Punjabi musician Sidhu Moose Wala in Delhi, the national capital region (NCR), Haryana, and Punjab.

NIA personnel performed searches concurrently in collaboration with the local police in the case filed by the counterterrorism agency to begin an investigation against specific gangs.

“Raids are going on at numerous places in Delhi, NCR, Punjab, and Haryana in a case recently launched against some terror gangs,” top government sources were quoted by ANI as saying.

The official mentioned that these gang members were connected to the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala, who was shot dead on May 29 in Punjab’s Mansa district by the unknown gunmen, one day after the state government revoked his security cover.

The investigating agency is looking into the roles played by gang leader Lawrence Bishnoi and his close friend and fellow mobster Goldy Brar. Currently, Bishnoi is being held in the Tihar Prison.

Vijay Singla of the AAP defeated Moose Wala, who ran for the Mansa assembly seat in the most recent assembly election on a Congress ticket.

The 28-year-old singer was shot at point blank range and pronounced dead at the Mansa civic hospital in the Mansa district’s Jawaharke village.

Locals found Moose Wala collapsed in the driver’s seat and estimate that the shooters fired over 30 shots at him.

Three people, including two shooters, were detained by Delhi Police in June in connection with the murder of Moose Wala.

The accused had been identified as Priyavrat alias Fauji (26), a resident of Sonipat in Haryana, Kashish (24), also from the state’s Jhajjar district, and Keshav Kumar (29), a resident of Bhatinda in Punjab, the Delhi Police had said.

According to the police, Priyavrat was in charge of a group of shooters and in close proximity to Brar when he was killed. Ten suspects, including the main suspect Lawrence Bishnoi, have been detained in the case, according to information provided by the Punjab Police in June.
