Tripura Congress’ Youth President Attacked During Political Event

Guwahati: The head of the Tripura Congress’ youth wing, Rakhu Das is accused of being attacked on Tuesday during a political gathering held in the Bishramganj area of Sepahijala district.

The youth leader was quoted by NE Now as saying, “A gang of BJP-backed miscreants had laid a siege around our meeting venue at Bishramganja. We have come here after a protest rally. A senior leader from Delhi Moumita Kali has also suffered injuries owing to the attacks.”

“Several vehicles including my one were vandalized by the BJP workers who went on a rampage in the area,” Das added.

Additionally, he said that despite repeated requests, the police neglected to commence rescue efforts for the Congress employees trapped within the building because they were unaware of the incident.

Meanwhile, BJP and Congress workers reportedly started fighting after the former’s protest demonstration.

Following the altercations, a huge number of police and TSR officials flocked to the area to try to calm things down. Additionally, he said that despite repeated requests, the police neglected to commence rescue efforts for the Congress employees trapped within the building because they were unaware of the incident.

Meanwhile, BJP and Congress workers reportedly started fighting after the former’s protest demonstration.

The Youth Congress leader also got into a heated confrontation with SDPO Rahul Das of Bishalgarh over alleged inaction against “BJP-sponsored terror.”
