ATTSA Reacts to PDS Rice Seizure in Assam’s Dibrugarh

Guwahati: The Public Distribution System (PDS) rice that was discovered being unlawfully kept in Dibrugarh on Wednesday prompted a response from the Assam Tea Tribes Students’ Association (ATTSA).

The rice was kept in order to be sold on the black market and no one has been arrested in connection with the seizure as of yet.

Notably, the Bureau of Investigation Economic Offences (BIEO) on Tuesday has seized 6,415 quintals of illegally stored Public Distribution System (PDS) rice in Assam’s Dibrugarh and Tinsukia district.

During a BIEO raid at the Ms Larua Cooperative Society in Dibrugarh, 4,450 quintals of rice were recovered.
