BJP National Prez JP Nadda To Arrive In Nagaland On 2-Day Visit

Guwahati: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Jagat Prakash Nadda will travel to Nagaland for a two-day visit in advance of the state’s next assembly elections.

Nadda will receive a warm welcome when he lands in Dimapur on September 15, when he is scheduled to visit the state. The Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland and BJP leader YV Patton’s home district of Wokha is where he will later address a public gathering in the afternoon.

Nadda will meet with all state office holders, all the way down to the mandal level after the open meeting.

He is anticipated to provide advice on how to approach the impending elections, which are scheduled to take place in the early months of 2023. Nadda will also have a separate meeting with the BJP lawmakers and the party’s lone Rajya Sabha representative from Nagaland.

Nadda would then invite the state leaders for a dinner meeting as well as the chief minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio, who also serves as the party’s president. They will have talks about formalising their alliance. The NDPP and BJP have already declared their partnership for the state elections.

On September 16, the national president will meet with about 1,800 notable citizens in Dimapur before travelling to the Baptisit Church in Kohima. Additionally, he will meet with the state’s BJP core committee.

It should be remembered that the chief minister of Nagaland recently travelled to the city to speak with Union home minister Amit Shah about the lingering Naga Accord problem.

There is currently no opposition to the Nagaland government. The coalition government in Nagaland, made up of MLAs from the NDPP, BJP, NPF, and Independent parties, changed its name to United Democratic Alliance (UDA) last year.

The 60-member Nagaland Assembly will be chosen in elections that are anticipated to take place in February 2023.
