Robin Uthappa Announces Retirement from All Forms of Indian Cricket
Guwahati: Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa announced his retirement from all formats of the game on Wednesday.
The right-handed batsman most recently represented Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2022 and Kerala in Indian domestic cricket.
The veteran announced his decision on Twitter. He shared a beautiful note where he thanked everyone involved in his career, right from the members of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to his IPL and domestic teams to his family as well.
He wrote, “It has been my greatest honour to represent my country and my state, Karnataka. However, all good things must come to an end, and with a grateful heart, I have decided to retire from all forms of Indian cricket.”
One of his most significant performances in international cricket was a 50-run performance against Pakistan in the 2007 T20 World Cup group match. He came back to strike the stumps in a “bowl out” after the game was tied.
