17 Bangladeshi Nationals Held in Assam’s Biswanath

Guwahati: At least 17 Bangladeshi nationals have been arrested in Behali in Biswanath district of Assam on Saturday.

The Jingia Police arrested the Bangladeshis at Baghmari on the Brahmaputra’s banks.

According to reports, the Bangladeshi nationals entered India through Cooch Behar. They carried tourist visas to enter into India.

They had visited numerous sacred sites all around India. Additionally, they allegedly planned religious gatherings in a number of locations, including Delhi, Ajmer Sharif, etc.

The police said that the individuals began camping in Biswanath on September 13.

The police are currently questioning all 17 of the individuals.
