Assam: Another Govt Employee Arrested on Bribery Charges in Dhubri
Guwahati: The team of Directorate Vigilance and Anti Corruption arrested another government employee for accepting bribe in Dhubri district of Assam on Friday.
This is the second arrest on bribery charges made on the same day in two different districts.
The accused has been identified as Mahabub Mollah and is employed as Senior Assistant Circle officer in Bilasipara.
According to reports, he was accepting demanded money for mutation of land of the complainant.
Taking to Twitter, ADGP (Law & Order) GP Singh tweeted, “Sri Mahabub Mollah Senior Assistant o/o Circle officer Bilasipara District Dhubri has been trapped and arrested red handed today by team of @DIR_VAC_ASSAM while accepting demanded money for processing the land mutation work of the complainant.”
Earlier today, a drug inspector, identified as Jahnabi Kalita, was trapped and caught red handed while accepting bribe money by the team in Jorhat.
Kalita had demanded money for issuing a License to the complainant for starting a Pharmacy.
The anti-corruption cell along with the Assam Police is keeping a strict vigil to curb all kinds of corruption activities across the state. In the last few months, many state government officials were caught red-handed while accepting bribes.
