Guwahati: Three boxers from Assam have been chosen to represent India at the Asian Senior Men’s and Women’s Boxing Championship on Saturday, which is a great development.
Lovlina Borgohain, Ankushita Boro, and Shiva Thapa are the three boxers from Assam who will compete for their country in the forthcoming competition.
Yesterday, the screening procedure took place in the Punjabi city of Patiala.
The focus will be on Olympic medalist and star boxer Lovlina Borgohain, who withdrew from the Commonwealth Games 2022 at the Quarterfinal stage without a medal.
Shiva Thapa too had a lacklustre performance at CWG 22, retiring early.
