Auto Driver From Kerala Wins Rs 25 Crore Lottery
Guwahati: An auto driver from Sreevaraham in Thiruvananthapuram of Kerala took home the top reward of Rs 25 crores in this year’s Onam Bumper lottery.
The auto driver Anoop , had bought the lucky ticket on Saturday night from Bhagavathy Agency.
Anoop had previously worked as a chef in a hotel and intended to move to Malaysia to do so. He applied for a loan at the bank, and it was approved.
Kerala’s finance minister K N Balagopal conducted the lucky draw on Sunday afternoon in the presence of the transport minister Antony Raju and the Vattiyoorkavu MLA V K Prasanth.
With a second prize of 25 crore rupees, a third prize of 5 crores, and 10 prizes of 1 crore each, this year’s Onam bumper prize has the highest prize money in Kerala lottery history.
Everyone was interested to find out who had won the first prize on ticket number TJ-750605, which had won it. Anoop later asserted that he was the fortunate winner. Anoop will receive 15 crores 75 lakhs of rupees after taxes are deducted.
There were 67 lakh Onam bumper tickets made this year, and practically all of them were sold out. The cost of the ticket was 500 rupees. The Kerala government’s primary source of income comes from the lottery. Thank goodness, the commission will also go to the lottery agent who sold the ticket.
Onam began on August 30, with Atham and concluded with Thiruvonam. Thiruvonam marks the end of the Onam celebration. Onam is commemorated as a way to remember Kerala’s strong government under the rule of Mahabali, a monarch.
