Assam CM Sarma Talks CAA & NRC With Solicitor General Tushar Mehta in Delhi

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma arrived in Delhi on Monday for a crucial meeting with the country’s solicitor general (SG).

CM Sarma visited Delhi today and had a meeting with SG Tushar Mehta to discuss a number of issues, including the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC).

The meeting this morning reportedly lasted more than a half-hour and involved discussions about choosing the base year for NRC.

The pair also discussed about the Supreme Court of India petitions that were submitted in relation to the CAA.

Meanwhile, reports further stated that CM Sarma and SG Mehta also discussed a number of other legal-related topics during their discussion.
