Popular Comedian Raju Srivastava No More

Guwahati: Popular Indian comedian Raju Srivastava breathed his last at the age of 58 after being admitted in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Delhi on Wednesday.

He experienced a cardiac arrest and fell while working out at a gym on August 10. His condition deteriorated over time amid constant treatment over the last one-and-a-half month.

He was known as Raju Srivastava and was born as Satya Prakash Srivastava on December 25, 1963. His frequently funny takes on commonplace themes transformed the stand-up comedy landscape in the nation.

He first tried his hand at stand-up comedy on the talent competition The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, where he came in second place. He then competed on the follow-up, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge – Champions, where he took home the title of “The King of Comedy.”

Having tickled our funny bones for the best part of two decades, the comedian bows out with fond memories in the hearts of his fans.
