Assam: Two More PFI Members Apprehended

Guwahati: Assam Police’s special cell arrested two more PFI members on Thursday night.

Two PFI members—one from the outskirts of Guwahati and the other from Karimganj—have been arrested.

The people who were arrested are currently being questioned at the SOU police station in Kahilipara.

Both individuals will appear in court today.

With the arrest of these two individuals, a total of 12 members have been taken into custody.

The ten people detained on Thursday have been taken into jail by the courts. Nine of the ten PFIs were PFI cadres, and one had connections to PFI.

When they were brought before the court, the police requested a 14-day judicial detention order; however, the court mandated a five-day detention in police custody.

Police seized mobile phones and some documents from the members and produced them in court.

A case has been registered against them under case no 02/2022 u/s 120(B),124(A)/153(A)/353.
