Guwahati: The main suspect in the murder of a woman at the Harijan Colony in Assam’s Nagaon district was arrested by police.
The arrested person has been identified as Subrot Mazumdar.
On Sunday, a perpetrator brutally killed Rubi Dutta by striking her in the head.
The woman’s bloody body was discovered at her residence.
She was reportedly killed at home by the attacker, who repeatedly struck her with a machete. Raju Dutta, the woman’s husband, wasn’t home when he arrived.
A family member told reporters that after learning about the incident, he hurried to the scene and saw the victim’s bloodied body.
According to a neighbour, the woman was talking on the phone with her mother when suddenly, following a loud noise, the mother heard the woman collapse. She called a neighbour as soon as she became concerned, and some of them came running to her flat.
