Congress Workers Clash During Meet On ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ In Assam’s Dhubri

Guwahati: A conflict between two groups of Congress workers broke out at a meeting on Monday at Rajiv Bhawan in Dhubri district of Assam to discuss the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

A few Assam Pradesh Congress Committee leaders were there when the incident occurred. To discuss the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Assam scheduled for November 1, a conference was called at Rajiv Bhawan in Dhubri.

The regional leaders denied any party divisions existed and claimed that some misunderstandings were prevalent.

“We are one Dhubri District Congress. We are not separated. There are some false beliefs, though. There is no conflict among us over the Bharat Jodo Yatra. A group made accusations against the district president during the conversation about the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Assam. Such issues should not be brought up during the meeting today. Some of our party members resisted them when they brought up their concerns, which led to some unfortunate circumstances “explained Wazed Ali Choudhury, a congressman.

The Yatra will depart from Kerala and travel through the state for the following 18 days before arriving in Karnataka on September 30.
