Union Cabinet Approves 4% Hike In DA For Central Government Employees
Guwahati: A proposal to boost the dearness allowance (DA) of central government employees and retirees by 4% was accepted by the Union Cabinet, which is presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday.
The dearness allowance for central government employees was increased twice this year. The administration announced a 3% rise in DA in March 2022. The price rise took effect on January 1st, 2022. The increase in DA will help central government employees, central government pensioners, and family pensioners receiving central government pensions.
The effective DA of central government employees and pensioners was 34% prior to the 4% rise that the union cabinet authorised on Wednesday. This has now been raised to 38%.
The new hike will take effect on July 1st, 2022.
