Guwahati: Goods and Services Tax Commissioner in Guwahati has been arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation on Thursday.
The commissioner has been identified as Shaktibhel Raju.
According to reports, Raju appeals section under GST department.
Reports claim that the CBI searched the GST Bhavan during the raid and several documents were seized.
Meanwhile, a businessman identified as Mahavir Jain was also arrested by the CBI.
Jain, who operated a courier service and is charged of brokering.
A sum amount of Rs. 3 lakhs in cash has been seized from his residence.
