1 Dead, 3 Injured After Bike-Borne Men Go On Shooting Spree in Mumbai

Guwahati: At least one person have been died and three others injured after two bike riding miscreants allgedly opened fire on them in Kandivli area of Mumbai.

According to reports, the escalation was caused by the spillover of personal animosity. The incident happened around 11:30 pm at Lalkopara on Link Road.

“We learned that a firing incident had taken place within the Kandivli police station’s jurisdiction at 12.15 am. A further investigation is being conducted after the attackers, who rode two bikes, opened fire on a group of people, killing one and injuring three others slightly “Vishal Thakur, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Zone 11.

The deceased, identified as one 26-year-old Ankit Yadav was bleeding profusely and couldn’t be saved even after rushing him to a nearby hospital. The other three injured victims have been identified as Abhinash Dabholkar, Manish Gupta, and Prakash Narayan.

The victim was well-known to the main suspect in the case, Sonu Paswan, and both groups are members of different Dahi Handi mandals, the police said. The two factions got into a fight earlier this year over removing a specific Dahi Handi from their territory.

Meanwhile, a complaint was filed against the accused under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 302 (murder) and other IPC sections, as well as the Arms Act.

The defendant, Sonu Paswan has not yet been taken into custody.
