Women jumps into Brahmaputra from ferry in Guwahati
Guwahati: Sensation prevails as a young woman, who was travelling in a ferry jumped into the Brahmaputra River in Guwahati on Saturday.
This is suspected to be a fresh case of suicide into the Brahmaputra.
The incident took place at around 4.45pm.
The ferry, called RPL Burhadia, was bound for Guwahati from Rajduar Ghat.
She was attempted to be rescued by the other ferry passengers, but they were unsuccessful.
The young woman eventually drowned in the swift stream of the river.
Although the rescue team is actively searching however, the woman has not been found yet.
However, the reason behind taking such step is yet to be known.
