11 Killed, 38Injured After Bus Catches Fire in Maharashtra’s Nasik
Guwahati: As many as 38 people were injured and 11 were found dead after a bus carrying passengers caught fire in Nashik, Maharashtra early on Saturday morning, according to officials.
The bus stuck a container and started fire near Aurangabad Road in Nashik around five in the morning, they added.
Reportedly, the injured have been taken to the hospital for treatment.
Videos showed the bus being completely consumed by a big ball of fire as firefighters battled to put it out.
The families of those who lost a family member in the accident would receive financial help totaling 2 lakh, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The hurt parties would receive 50,000.
The family members of those killed in the accident would receive compensation of 5 lakh each, according to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
According to state minister Dada Bhuse, the Maharashtra government will cover the injured patients’ medical costs.
As per reports,some of the injured people’s conditions are critical, officials warned that the accident’s death toll could rise.
The authorities said that they are still attempting to determine the exact number of fatalities.
