Guwahati: Wild elephants from Manas National Park infiltrated a residential area in Bijni’s northern section in Bongaigaon district of Assam and caused havoc on Saturday.
Locals claim that, wild elephants near Manas National Park enter the nearby residential areas and cause significant damage in search of food.
The concrete house of Subhash Sarkar was damaged on Saturday night after the elephants entered the area.
The house was constructed in 2019 under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana scheme no one was injured in the incident.
