Guwahati: The minimum city bus fare in Guwahati has hiked by the District Transport Offices.
The directive was issued by the department on September 14.
The minimum and maximum bus fares have been set at Rs. 10 and Rs. 30, respectively.
According to the revised bus fares, the cost is Rs. 10 for up to 5 km, Rs. 15 for up to 9 km, Rs. 18 for up to 13 km, and Rs. 30 for up to 25 km.
The fare will increase by Rs. 1 per km. beyond 25 km.
The municipal buses started charging Rs. 10 as the minimum bus ticket after the pandemic but the department never issued an official announcement to that effect.
The DTO increased the minimum bus fare from Rs. 5 to Rs. 7 prior to the pandemic.
