Navy’s MiG 29k Jet Crashes Off Goa Coast, Pilot Safe
Guwahati: A MiG 29K fighter plane lost control over the water while on a routine mission off the coast of Goa on Wednesday.
Reportedly, a pilot was able to safely parachute from the aircraft and was later found after a quick search and rescue operation.
According to reports, the pilot’s health is stable.
According to officials, the plane was returning to base when a technical issue occurred.
Meantime, a Board of Inquiry (BoI) has been appointed to look into the incident’s origins.
Notably, it was the MiG-29fourth K’s accident since 2019.
A fighter pilot lost his life in a MiG-29K crash in November 2020. Commander Nishant Singh’s body was found 11 days after the crash, while one of the pilots was rescued shortly after the tragedy.
A MiG-29K trainer plane went down outside a Goan village in November 2019. The two pilots had safely ejected.
