Cachar Police Seize 2,000 Contraband Cough Syrup Bottles In Assam
Guwahati: Cachar district police in Assam carried out an operation against illegal drugs and apprehended one person in connection with smuggling on Thursday.
According to reports, the operation was carried out in the Cachar district of Assam at Larsingpar, close to Borkhola.
According to officials, up to 22 cartons holding 2,000 cough syrup bottles were discovered during the raid.
Additionally, one person was arrested by police in connection with the incident. The police have named the suspect as Nabendu Malakar.
Further information from officials revealed that he had a long history of involvement in drug smuggling.
Meantime, an investigation in the matter has been initiated and police will further question Malakar.
