Guwahati: President of India Droupadi Murmu, inaugurated the Param-Kamrupa Supercomputer Facility and the laboratory for the design and development of high power microwave components on Thursday at IIT Guwahati during her visit to Assam for a two-day visit.
President Murmu stated during the inauguration event that IIT Guwahati has made the area and the country proud with its achievements in the national and international arena within a short period of its existence.
President Murmu asked the institute to support innovations, work toward indigenization in cutting-edge technology, and offer opportunities for skill development in order to make the nation Atma-nirbhar.
Meanwhile, she also inaugurated the Medical College and hospital in Dhubri and laid the foundation stones for two Zonal Institutes of National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Dibrugarh.
