Guwahati: As many as 200 decomposing bodies were recovered thrown on a public hospital’s rooftop on Friday in the Punjab province of Pakistan.
According to reports, numerous human body parts were also recovered on the roof of Multan’s Nishtar Hospital mortuary.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi established a powerful committee to look into the situation and ordered an investigation.
Specialized healthcare secretary Muzamil Bashir leads the six-person group, which has three days to conduct its investigation.
Notably, CM adviser Chaudhry Zaman Gujjar visited the Nishter Hospital after receiving a tip and discovered numerous “abandoned” bodies on the roof.
“I was on a visit in Nishtar Hospital when a man approached me and said if you want to perform a good deed then go the morgue and check it out,” the speaker said.
The staff wasn’t prepared to open the mortuary’s doors when he arrived at the hospital.
Later following warnings they opened the door and as they stepped in, they found at least 200 bodies lying around.
“All the decaying remains were nude, men and women alike. Even the bodies of ladies weren’t covered, he claimed.
