AAP: Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia Will Be Arrested by CBI

Guwahati: The Aam Aadmi Party has now asserted that Manish Sisodia, the deputy chief minister of Delhi will be arrested after being called in by the CBI.

Speaking about the summons, top Aam Aadmi Party leader Saurabh Bhardwaj stated it was related to the approaching Gujarat elections.

He claimed that the BJP and the AAP are now the main competitors in the state.

Bhardwaj further stated that the BJP is scared.

It should be noted that Manish Sisodia, the deputy chief minister of Delhi has been called before the CBI for questioning about an alleged excise policy fraud.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader has reportedly been ordered to appear before the Central Probe Agency (CPA) at its headquarters on Monday at 11 am.

“CBI raid was conducted at my house for 14 hours, nothing came out. Searched my bank locker, nothing came out in it. They did not find anything in my village. Now they have called me to CBI Headquarters at 11 am tomorrow. I will go and give my full cooperation. Satyameva Jayate,” Sisodia twitted on Sunday.

The CBI has questioned a number of people, including Sameer Mahendru, the owner of Indo Spirits, Amit Arora, the director of Buddy Retail Private Limited in Gurugram, and India Ahead News managing director Mootha Gautam, in connection with the case, the officials said.

The agency has also arrested Vijay Nair, an AAP worker and the former CEO of Only Much Louder, an entertainment and event management company, and Hyderabad-based businessman Abhishek Boinpally, they said.

The Indian Penal Code (IPC), including sections 120B (criminal conspiracy) and 477A (falsification of records), as well as section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, which deals with taking unfair advantage to influence a public servant through corrupt or illegal means or by the exercise of personal influence, were the subject of a FIR filed by the CBI in a special court here in August against Sisodia and 14 other people.

According to the authorities, Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena had suggested a CBI investigation into alleged anomalies in the creation and implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy, which was released in November of last year.
