Delhi Excise Policy Scam: CBI Summons Deputy CM Manish Sisodia Today
Guwahati: The deputy chief minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia was called before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday in relation to allegations of corruption in the creation and execution of the national capital’s excise policy.
Sisodia was asked by the CBI to appear at its headquarters at 11 a.m.
Reacting to CBI’s summon, Sisodia tweeted, “A CBI raid was conducted at my house for 14 hours, nothing came out. Searched my bank locker, nothing came out in it. They did not find anything in my village. Now they have called me to CBI Headquarters at 11 am tomorrow. I will go and give my full cooperation. Satyameva Jayate.”
Notably, the CBI searched Sisodia’s home as part of its investigation into potential irregularities in the Delhi Excise Policy in August.
Following the operation, the CBI obtained the filing of a FIR in a special court under a number of IPC provisions, including 120B (criminal conspiracy), 477A (falsification of records), and Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act against Sisodia and 14 other individuals.
Although nothing has been found so far, the agency also searched his home and opened his locker at a bank in Ghazibad.
