MHA Approves Rs 17.20 Crores as Advance Flood Relief to Nagaland
Guwahati: The State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) has been authorised by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to advance release of Rs 17.20 crores to Nagaland for the fiscal year 2022–2023.
The money was made available as the second instalment of the Central Share of the SDRF to help with relief efforts after the monsoon season’s floods and landslides.
The Center has been working to quickly assist States and Union Territories that have been impacted by natural disasters.
The Central Government has already distributed Rs. 8,764.00 crores to 24 States, including Nagaland, as the first instalment of the Central share of SDRF during the current Financial Year.
A further amount of Rs. 827.60 crores, the second tranche of the Central share, has also been released, in advance, to three more states due to the devastating floods and landslides in several states.
