Elephant Calf Recovered Dead
Guwahati: An elephant calf’s carcass was found from near the Kaziranga national park in Assam on Monday night.
According to reports, the calf was recovered dead inside a reserve forest near Kaziranga national park under Kaliabor sub-division in Assam’s Nagaon district.
The baby elephant was buried by the forest department at the location of the recovery after the post-mortem.
It has been learned that the calf passed away after being struck by an adult elephant. It was also reportedly suffering from some disease.
Meanwhile, a probe has been launched to determine the precise reason behind the calf’s demise.
