Guwahati: In a tragic incident, as many as four persons were killed and one has received severe injuries after a landslide hit houses in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand.
Five members of a family were reportedly buried in the wreckage on Saturday when the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) began a rescue effort.
As per national media reports, Tharali Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ravindra Juwantha informed that the incident involves landslides in the Tharali region and following the incident police officials and rescue team arrived to the scene quickly.
District Control Room informed the SDRF that debris crashed into houses in Tharali.
Moreover, General SDRF, Manikant Mishra assisted the SDRF rescue squad to immediately dispatch the rescue team to the spot. In compliance with the above order, the Humrah team immediately reached the spot of the rescue equipment for rescue.
