Guwahati: A massive fire broke out a quarter in Guwahati on Saturday evening.
The fire broke out at a quarter where Gautam Basfar was residing near Central Gotanagar Railway Co-operative in Maligaon.
Reportedly, an earthen lamp that had been lighted at their residence sparked the fire.
It also damaged two more quarters adjacent to the one that caught fire.
Following the incident, three fire tenders rushed to the affected place and doused the fire.
It needs to be noted that property worth Rs. 5 lakhs were turned to ashes in the fire.
However, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
It may be mentioned that there were no casualties or injuries reported in the incident.
