Guwahati: Two members of Bir Lachit Sena were nabbed and handed over to the police officials in Morigaon district of Assam on Sunday evening.
According to reports, they were nabbed by locals and dumper truck driver.
The group members are accused of harassing the villagers and making demands for money.
The members were captured and later turned over to the police on a Sunday evening as they were collecting cash from dumper truck drivers.
Even though several Bir Lachit Sena members managed to escape the scene, the locals were able to apprehend two of them—Biswa Bora and Hemanta Das.
After some while, cops arrived and brought the two to the station.
An off-duty home guard and a member of the Bir Lachit Sena were both detained in August for allegedly misbehaving with them in the Charaideo district.
