Guwahati: A massive fire destroyed the entire second floor of a building in Guwahati’s Uzan Bazar area on Monday.
The incident occurred in the Uzan Bazar locality at House No. 57, close to Jorpukhuri. Fire tenders rushed to the spot immediately.
According to reports, the home’s owner is Mihir Bordoloi. Flames erupted from the second floor of his house.
Reportedly, the room where the fire started had been vacant for the previous six months. It had been rented out to one Kartik Nandy two years ago.
Three fire fighters arrived on the scene as soon as the incident happened. They had to struggle for a while before they could douse the flames.
In addition, a damage assessment showed that the significant fire had completely destroyed the room.
