Assam CM Sarma Launches Lachit Borphukan App & Portal
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma unveiled the Lachit Borphukan app and portal on Wednesday on the 400th anniversary of the birth of Lachit Borphukan, the legendary warrior of the Ahom Dynasty who overthrew the Mughal Empire.
CM Sarma introduced the app and portal at a press conference held at Janata Bhawan.
Through the app, users can upload their reflections about the fighter that they have written on paper.
The state government will offer certificates of recognition to anyone who uploads writings to the web and app.
CM Sarma informed that people from all over the world are welcome to comment on Lachit Borphukan.
Moreover, CM Sarma declared that on November 18 at all Assamese educational institutions, an essay contest on Lachit Borphukan will be held.
All educational institutions are required by him to submit the essays.
He added that the tournament would eventually take place at the district and state levels.
The Lachit Borphukan app and portal will host the essays that receive prizes.
Lachit Borphukan instruction manuals will be printed by the government in one crore copies.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah will attend an international symposium that will be conducted in New Delhi from November 23 to 28.
Amit Shah will introduce the documentary film on Lachit Borphukan during the lecture, which will air on national and international television.
