PM Modi Applauds Efforts After Gujarat Declared 100% “Har Ghar Jal” State
Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the efforts of the state’s administration following the declaration of Gujarat as a fully-functioning “Har Ghar Jal” state on Wednesday .
A minister for Gujarat Rushikesh Patel had tweeted that the state has reached a significant milestone. Prime Minister Modi responded by praising the populace’s energy.
He wrote, “Congratulations to the people of Gujarat…this shows the enthusiasm of the people towards water power.”

The Union Minister for Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat announced a 100-day campaign that began on October 2, 2020, to safeguard children’s health and wellbeing by supplying clean tap water in schools and Anganwadi centres across the nation.
The Jal Jeevan Mission seeks to liberate mothers and sisters from the age-old labour of fetching water for households and to improve their socioeconomic, educational, and health statuses.
Over 8.47 lakh schools (82%), and 8.67 lakh Anganwadi centres (78%), in India, now have access to potable tap water for drinking and cooking meals, among other uses. In schools all around the country, there are already 93,000 rainwater harvesting facilities and 1.08 lakh greywater reuse structures.
