Anti-Corruption Cell Takes 5-Days Custody To ACS KK Sharma
Guwahati: The department of Vigilance and Anti-corruption Cell has taken joint secretary to the Government of Assam, ACS KK Sharma, who was arrested on bribery charges, to five-day custody.
KK Sharma was brought before a special court in Guwahati on Saturday and was then handed over to the anti-corruption unit.
It should be noted that Sharma was caught red-handed and arrested by investigators from the Vigilance and Anti-corruption unit as he was collecting Rs 90,000 from a complainant for the renewal of a security firm licence.
Sharma was reportedly detained on Friday night after anti-corruption squad agents raided his residence in Rukminigaon of Guwahati. A total of Rs 49,24,700 was seized from his residence.
