Guwahati: Another scam involving the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has been exposed, this time going by the name of Bharalu garbage disposal.
According to reports, GMC Superintendent Manjit Bujarbaruah has been suspended on Saturday in connection to this scam.
The suspension was ordered based on the report of Joint Commissioner Pankaj Chakraborty.
Manjit is currently working in the Municipal Administrative Department.
A huge amount of Rs. 40 lakhs was embezzled under the name of Bharalu sludge removal.
Earlier, eight persons including the OSD of GMC and six Executive Engineers were arrested in relation to a multimillion rupee scandal involving fake bills in GMC.
